The Malden Animal Control Officer serves as a public safety officer for the City of Malden handling all domestic, exotic and wild animal issues. The Animal Control Officer is tasked with enforcing state and local laws and ordinances related to the keeping of animals, management of wild life and animal abuse or neglect.

The Board of Health Office is located in the Malden Government Center, Room 517, 200 Pleasant Street, just across the street from the Malden Center T-Stop on the Orange Line.

Dog Licenses
Dog licenses are required for all dogs in the City of Malden. These licenses must be renewed annually. The fee for each license is $15.00. Applications for Dog Licenses are available at the Office of the City Clerk, Malden Government Center, Room 323, 200 Pleasant Street or click here to download the application. Failure to license your dog could result in a fine of $50.00 in accordance with Section 9.16 of the City Ordinances.
Twice a month at MacDonald Stadium the CatMobile is available for low cost spayed neutering services.

Rabies Clinics
Next scheduled Clinic is going to be on Saturday, April 13th, 2013 from 9am-11am at the Central Fire Station.
Bi-annual rabies clinics are held at the Central Fire Station (at Salem and Sprague Streets) each September and April. The fee is $10.00 per dog or cat. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier. Actual clinic dates will be posted here and in the What's News section of the City's web site when scheduled.

Spay & Neuter Program
Reduced cost Spay and Neuter Certificates are availble and can be obtained from the Animal Control Officer. Come into the Board of Health Office at Malden Government Center, Room 517, 200 Pleasant Street during posted business hours. These certificates are redeemable at the North Shore Animal Hospital, 1 Neptune Blvd., Lynn, MA 01902.
Please come in and register with the Clerk and a certificate will be issued to you.
