The Veterans' Services Department offers assistance to any person who served this country in the Armed Services and who may be entitled to receive benefits from either local, State or Federal agencies.The Department of Veterans Services is a state mandated service, which provides services to the veteran's, veteran's spouses and their dependents. Education programs are offered to the local schools on the subjects of Flag etiquette, patriotism, and veterans' rights. The Veterans' Services Department suppports and collaborates with local veterans' organizations to conduct city events such as parades, marking graves for Memorial Day and dedications.

The Veteran's Officer for the City of Malden is appointed by the Mayor.

All veterans who served during a wartime period should file a copy of their discharge and DD214 with the Veterans Officer.
