The Veterans' Services Department offers assistance to any person who served this country in the United States Armed Forces and who may be entitled to receive benefits from either local, State or Federal agencies.The Department of Veterans' Services is a state mandated office, which provides information and services to the veteran, veteran's spouse and their dependents. The Veterans' Services Officer for the City of Malden is appointed by the Mayor.

Education programs are offered to local schools on the subjects of Flag etiquette, patriotism and veterans' rights. The Veterans' Services Department also suppports and collaborates with local veterans' organizations to conduct city events such as parades, marking graves for Memorial Day and dedications.

All veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces should file a copy of their discharge papers or DD214 with their local Veterans' Office. Veterans who are in need of their discharge papers may contact The Military Records Branch, Office of the Adjutant General at (508) 233-7780.
