Malden Senior Center Gets a New Van!

Wednesday, November 29, 2017

Transportation for Malden’s Senior Center members just got better! One of their only means of transportation, an old van was in poor shape, often in need of repair and the crucial accessible lift was no longer functioning. Human Services Director Karen Hayes with the assistance of City Controller Chuck Ranaghan wrote a modification of their 2017 grant through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Office of Elder Affairs and requested funding be allocated for a new vehicle. The request was granted and the seniors were very pleased to learn that the Center now has a brand new vehicle to take them to medical and dental appointments as well as food shopping.
