Movie Night at the Malden Public Library

Event Date

Wed May 21 6:00pm

Movie Night At The Malden Public Library -  Join us on Wednesday, May 21st, at 6:00-8:00pm in the Macarrio Room for a film about an unlikely platoon of WWII soldiers, who are tasked by FDR to go into Nazi Germany to retrieve stolen masterpieces of world art. Loosely based, in part, on the lives of WWII-era art curators, archivists, and art restorers, including an art conservator at the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard, this film stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman, Bill Murray, and Cate Blanchett.  The movie is inspired by the book, The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History by Robert Edsel. The New York Times describes the WWII soldiers as a “charmingly quirky crew.”  This film is free and open to the public and is accessible. Please call us at 781-324-0218 for more information.
