MTEC Celebrates Five Year Anniversary

Tuesday, December 12, 2017

The Malden Teen Enrichment Center (“MTEC”) recently celebrated its five year anniversary. Mayor Gary Christenson joined MTEC Coordinator Cathy MacMullin, many teens, the MTEC Board of Directors and City officials, to celebrate this milestone.

MTEC offers Malden teens a safe place to spend time after school and to take part in many enriching activities. The setting has proved to facilitate peer group interaction, instill a sense of community and foster healthier lives. The teens are able to develop leadership skills, participate in community service opportunities, receive homework assistance and attend many cultural and sporting events they may not otherwise have the opportunity.

“MTEC has surpassed all of our expectations,” said Mayor Christenson. “I thank Coordinator Cathy MacMullin for her dedicated work, the MTEC Board of Directors and the teens who make use of the Center and all it has to offer.”
