MTEC Students Celebrate JFK Centennial

Wednesday, April 19, 2017

Students from the Malden Teen Enrichment Center were invited by Congresswoman Katherine Clark to participate in the JFK 100 Centennial Touch Football Games in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the birth of President John F. Kennedy. Hundreds of participants, including Special Olympians played at several venues around the country, including President Kennedy’s alma mater Harvard College and at campuses in Virginia, Washington, D.C. and California. The efforts were organized by the JFK Library Foundation to help further President Kennedy’s message of the importance of physical fitness among today’s youth.

The MTEC teens are also very proud of the colorful peace signs they have created in the windows of the Teen Center, they are hoping to encourage a peaceful environment in the world in light of recent world tensions.
