Wednesday, March 7, 2018

Two Malden students were recently recognized for accomplishments by the Malden School Committee. Alexander Vasquez, a Kindergartener at Ferryway School collected $1,310 for the Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart fundraising event sponsored by the American Heart Association and the Society of Health and Physical Educators. Alexander’s original goal was to raise $30 and he did an impressive job surpassing it! Ward 1 City Councillor Peg Crowe also presented Alexander a citation on behalf of the City Council.

Harrison Zeiberg, a senior at Malden High School recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was also recognized by the School Committee. The rank represents a milestone accomplishment and is recognized across the country as well as internationally. Harrison has earned 23 merit badges. His Eagle Scout community service project was the establishing of an official Butterfly Garden where he helped improve the landscaping and had benches repaired in Malden’s O’Connell Delta.
