- First Parish in Malden, Universalist
We are people of all ages and all walks of life. At First Parish in Malden, we come together to worship, to support one another, and to make a difference in our world. We are people of many beliefs and backgrounds: people with a religious background, people with none, people who believe in a God, people who don't, and people who let the mystery be. We are Unitarian Universalist and:
We believe the truth is too big to be contained in any one way of thinking. We need not think alike to love alike. We live our faith by doing, carry our values into our daily lives. We have a track record of standing on the side of love, justice, and peace. On the forefront of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) inclusion for more than 40 years, UUs are people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Each week we say a covenant as part of our worship, about the promises we make to one another:
"We, the members of the First Parish in Malden, covenant in friendship to create together a community of respect, equality, openness, trust, and compassion. We pledge ourselves to hospitality, understanding, spiritual growth, sharing, and participation."
One great way to find out who we are and what we do is simply to join us on a Sunday morning for worship, religious education, and fellowship, which starts at 10:30 a.m. Childcare is always available.
We welcome you: your whole self, with all your truths and your doubts, your worries and your hopes. Join us on this extraordinary adventure of faith.
