The Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for timely follow up investigations of reported crime as well as proactive enforcement of Massachusetts General Laws and City of Malden Ordinances.
Detectives receive specialized training in order to prepare them for the specific types of investigations they are responsible for. Members of the detective bureau are committed to solving crimes and to increasing public awareness by educating our community on crime prevention methods.
Detectives work closely with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Special Services Unit, Department of Children and Families, and Federal law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and Department of Homeland Security.
