Beginning Monday, June 8th the City of Malden will resume parking meter enforcement across the City, as well as enforcement of our resident parking regulations and our street sweeping program.
Our nearly three-month hiatus on parking enforcement across the City was put into place for the convenience of our residents who were forced to remain home during the Governor’s “Stay at Home Advisory.” With the recent launch of the Governor’s 4-phase plan to reopen Massachusetts, our residents are beginning to return to their jobs and Malden businesses are reopening. As both instances require parking turnover to be successful, we will return to normal parking enforcement citywide on Monday, June 8th.
Lastly, in order to be effective, our street sweeping program requires vehicles to comply with the official sweeping schedule that normally goes into effect on April 1st of each year. We delayed enforcement of these regulations to assist residents with the Stay at Home Advisory but will resume it to allow us to better clean the streets and keep leaves and debris out of catch basins.
