[ARCHIVED] Supporting Victims of our Namesake City of Malden, Washington

The City of Malden is partnering with the Malden Fire Department to help support the victims of the devastating fires taking place in Malden, Washington. Incorporated on December 20, 1909 the town was established as a station stop and was named by railway officials after Malden, Massachusetts.

The blaze has destroyed 80% of Malden, WA completely decimating its Post Office, Fire Department, City Hall, and Library. Many homes have also been badly damaged or destroyed. The scale of this disaster has devastated the community.

As a result, a number of fundraising efforts are underway, and our city will be working to assist the many victims of our namesake city. The Lions Club of Malden is accepting donations of Visa/other prepaid cash gift cards which can be dropped off at the Malden Fire Department Headquarters, 1 Sprague Street during regular business hours (Monday through Friday 8 AM-5 PM). Donations will be shipped to the Lions Club in Malden, Washington and all proceeds will go toward helping the victims.
