[ARCHIVED] Fatal Stabbing Investigation

MDAO Press Release

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Malden Chief of Police Kevin Molis have confirmed that Yassine Khaouda, 27 of Malden, has been charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery on a person over 60 in connection with fatally stabbing his father, Mohammed Khaouda, 65 of Malden, early this morning.

Yassine Khaouda will be arraigned today in Malden District Court.

The preliminary investigation suggests that at approximately 5:40 a.m. Malden Police responded to 911 calls reporting a stabbing.  Upon arrival police located the victim in the parking garage of Pleasant Plaza Apartments suffering from apparent stab wounds.  First responders, including EMTs and the Malden Fire Department attempted life saving measures before he was transported to Melrose Wakefield hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The subsequent investigation revealed that the victim’s son allegedly stabbed him before fleeing back to the apartment where he and the victim live.  Yassine Khaouda was placed into custody without incident.

This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Malden Police
